A rich history of running

in Victoria Park, Ballarat

Victoria Park in Ballarat transitioned from a gold-mining site to one of Australia's premier European-style parklands after the first Arbor Day planting of over 3,000 trees in 1890. Its remained a significant recreational space throughout the years, hosting various activities like motor racing post-WWII!

On the 14th December 2025, it will host the inaugural Ballarat Christmas Fun Run, a relaxed running, walking and rolling event on fully closed-roads that winds its way through the park’s iconic tree-lined avenues, native grasslands and recreational facilities.

Set 2 weeks prior to Christmas, its a perfect chance to catch-up with friends, go for a run, walk or jog or to kick start your summer training for 2026 - our course takes on the same Park section of the Ballarat Marathon!
